Virtual session – Monday 23rd September 2024, 6pm-8pm (BST).

This course is intended for those that have limited/no relevant technical expertise. No coding experience necessary at all.

Imagine crafting a professional website that perfectly represents your brand, all without the hefty price tag of hiring a web developer. With our step-by-step guidance, you’ll learn to build, manage, and update your site with ease, saving potentially thousands of pounds or hundreds of hours of your valuable time in the process.

In this session, we will cover:

  • What WordPress is and isn’t
  • Setting up a production environment (i.e. hosting) for your website with AWS Lightsail*
  • WordPress content types – static pages, posts and media
  • Themes and customisation
  • Plugins
  • SEO with the Yoast plugin
  • A basic intro to WooCommerce, the WordPress preeminent ecommerce plugin

* – Whilst this course isn’t filled with techno-babble and jargon, this step will require a tiny amount of scripting. It will be copy and paste.
